On November 19, a Delhi-based lawyer was allegedly harassed by IndiGo employees at the Guwahati airport who snatched her mobile phone and deleted snaps of her baggage that was repeatedly scanned. Early this month, a wheelchair-bound woman passenger got tripped at the Lucknow airport after the airline staffer chose to take a shortcut to the terminal building. The airline was caught in a controversy when an elderly passenger was manhandled by two of its ground handling staff last month. It said it is still "in active discussions with the authorities in this regard." The airline said it had requested the RBI to allow higher on-board sales (above Rs 25,000) in rupees twice on Februand June 5, 2014. This is clearly mentioned in the airline's on-board sales menu as well, it said. IndiGo, however, said in a statement it did not break any rules in doing so as it does not accept rupee payments for on-board sales on its international flights which is in accordance with the Foreign Exchange Management Act. The company can do the same without assigning any reason and without prior intimation."I placed the order but the crew refused to accept the payment in the rupee," Jain alleged in the complaint, adding "IndiGo is an Indian company and I too am an Indian."Īnother passenger also faced the same "mistreatment", he alleged. IndiGo reserves the right to withdraw or modify any of the aforementioned terms at any time and it holds absolute discretion.Customers who are using Flex Pay option must remember that they cannot make any modification to their booking until all the outstanding amounts due for their booking have been paid for before the expiry of the Flex Pay Period.IndiGo will not refund the Flex Pay payment in case of cancellation of the booking.Customers cannot use any reward points or any vouchers when they are availing the Flex Pay scheme.If need be, they can confirm their booking by calling the IndiGo call centre within the Flex Pay Period. Customers will have to confirm their bookings either by paying the total fare through Edit Booking or through the payment link that they will receive at the time of making a booking using the Flex Pay option.One important aspect of the scheme that the potential flyers must know is that under this scheme, they will either pay 10% of the total fare or 400, whichever is higher.Please note that this scheme remains subject to the availability of the seats. The Flex Pay option is applicable to only a limited number of seats per flight.Also, the flex pay payment will be charged on a per passenger basis. This particular scheme is not available for certain fares like fares for armed forces or group bookings. ![]() The flyer needs to make the payment of the rest of the amount within a period of fifteen (15) days from the date of booking.Also, the Flex Pay option is available only for domestic bookings. This flexible payment scheme is applicable only on bookings made through the company's official website.Those facing similar struggles can avail for this scheme but here are a few things that one should know before making any bookings. For example, even if the passengers are willing to travel, the surge in the prices and the risk involved in travelling is raising concerns. This move was taken in light of the COVID-19 induced lockdown measures wherein people are stranded in different locations and are doubtful about the future turn of events.
